Colerain High School sophomore Mark Meyer was named the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” for painting his face and sporting his Colerain track jacket. His mascot friend, the cardinal, joined Meyer to help cheer on their team to a complete shut-out over Northmont High School on 11/2.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” is Colerain High School senior quarterback Quentin Sims. Typically second string, Simms started in his first varsity game this week. He rushed for an impressive 228 yards on 12 carries and one touchdown. Completing three passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns, Simms led his team to a 35 to 0 win against Northmont High School for a first round playoff victory.

October 26, 2007 - Deer Park vs. Mariemont

The Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” was Deer Park High School senior Coco McNatt. Her Deer Park football jersey, thunder sticks and spirited sign made her a crowd standout as her team took on Mariemont High School on 10/26.

Deer Park High School senior quarterback Ethan Carey earned Gold Star Chili’s “Star of the Game” title by completing nine passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. Carey’s strong performance lifted Deer Park to a 28 to 3 victory over Mariemont High School.

October 19, 2007 - Oak Hills vs. Fairfield

Oak Hills High School freshman Brady Ramsaur secured the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” title by cheering on his team in an inflatable costume and bright, red wig. His team beat Fairfield High School in overtime on 10/19.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” was Oak Hills High School senior wide receiver and place kicker Justin Steigerwald. Scoring three field goals against Fairfield High School, Steigerwald secured the win for Oak Hills with his winning kick in overtime. The final score was a nail biting 23 to 20.

October 12, 2007 - Wyoming vs. Reading

Reading High School freshman Alex Wade earned the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” honor by being one of the first fans to arrive to the stadium. His spray-painted body and hair showed his true Reading colors even though his team had a disappointing loss to Wyoming High School.

John Wirtz of Wyoming High School took home the Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” title as his team took on Reading High School on 10/12. The senior quarterback ran for 158 yards and scored one touch down. He helped lead his team to a 21 to 14 victory by completing thirteen passes and rushing 25 yards.

October 5, 2007 - Lakoto West vs. Colerain

Lakota West High School sophomore Nick Hagler won the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” title this week. In spite of a hard loss to Colerain, Hagler kept his spirits up decked out in a hard hat, red suspenders and painted in school colors from head-to-toe.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” for the Colerain High School versus Lakota West High School game is Colerain High School senior quarterback Doug Reynolds. Scoring one touchdown, throwing 159 yards and rushing 20 yards, Reynolds helped lead his team to a 44 to 0 victory.

September 28, 2007 - Cincinnati Country Day vs. Summit Country Day

Summit Country Day sophomore Alex Helton took home the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” title. Helton wore her brother’s away jersey in support of the team. Her spirit and enthusiasm kept the Summit Country Day crowd on its feet to cheer for their team until the nail-biting finish.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” of the Cincinnati Country Day versus Summit Country Day game was Summit Country Day junior quarterback Zak Stewart. Stewart led his team to a 21-to-18 win over Cincinnati Country Day. Taking home field advantage, Stewart scored one touch down, threw 109 yards and rushed for 60 yards.

Princeton freshman Amy Nguyen won the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” title. She proudly wore her Viking helmet and Princeton colors in support of her beloved home team.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” for the Princeton High School versus Hamilton High School game was Princeton sophomore Spencer Ware. The young quarterback threw five touchdown passes for a home victory over Hamilton. Princeton beat Hamilton 43 to 19.

LaSalle High School freshman Dominic Camarca earned the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” honor by painting himself head-to-toe in school colors. He was the “L” in a group of students who spelled out the school’s name, “LaSalle.”

LaSalle High School faced Elder High School at LaSalle on 9/14. Senior running back Kendall Owens took home the Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” title by rushing 166 yards and scoring three touchdowns. LaSalle’s home field advantage led them to a 28 to 19 victory over Elder.

Turpin High School junior Tyler Barrett took home Gold Star Chili’s Fan of the Game title on Sept. 7. Cheering on the Turpin Spartans with his team spirit in full force, Barrett kept the crowd alive throughout the intense game. Turpin took home the win with a close final score of 29 to 26.

Gold Star Chili's Star of the Game for Sept. 7 was Turpin High School senior and wide receiver Andy Kruse. Kruse led the team out of an early 20 to 0 deficit to a 29 to 26 win against Indian Hill High School. Kruse scored three touchdowns and had 154 receiving yards.

Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” honors went to Ryle High School seniors Alyssa Frank, Sammie Migglozi, Brittany Thaman and junior Chloe Call. The students showed their team spirit in light of a disappointing loss to Highlands High School.

Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” for Aug. 24 is Highlands High School junior Josh Conner. Ending the game with a 49 to 21 win, Conner rushed 227 yards and scored five touchdowns against Ryle High School. The season-opener was Conner’s first varsity start.
