November 2, 2007 - Beechwood vs. Newport Central Catholic

Beechwood High School senior Brock Hart is the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” this week. His team matched up against Newport Central Catholic High School. Hart’s passionate cheering and school-spirited face and body paint demonstrated his dedication in lieu of his team’s heart breaking loss.

Newport Central Catholic High School running back Mark Kelly earned the Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” title on 11/2 when his team played Beechwood High School. Kelly rushed for 128 yards on 21 carries and scored one touchdown, which helped drive his team to a 41 to 28 win over Beechwood.

October 26, 2007 - Dayton vs. Newport

Dayton High School eighth grader Angela Taylor won the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” title as her team faced-up against Newport High School. Taylor cheered her team on to victory at the 10/26 game.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” was Dayton High School running back Alex Brummett. Scoring a touchdown followed by a two-point conversion, Brummett helped seal Dayton’s victory against Newport High school, finishing the game 20 to 7.

October 19, 2007 - Ryle High vs. Boone County

The Gold Star Chili fan of the game was Boone County senior Josh Whitaker. Whitaker demonstrated his school spirit by painting his chest with the letter “R.” Along with some of his buddies, they spelled out “Rebels” – Boone County’s mascot. Leading the crowd in cheers and storming the field after Boone County’s win, Whitaker was truly a standout fan.

Boone County School senior quarterback Kyle Benke earned the Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” title when his team played Boone County High School on 10/19. Benke scored one touchdown and threw two touchdown passes. His final pass took the team into overtime but wasn’t enough to earn Ryle the win. Boone County won the game with a score of 30 to 24.

October 12, 2007 - Bellevue vs. Lloyd

Reading High School freshman Alex Wade earned the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” honor by being one of the first fans in the stadium to show his school spirit. His spray-painted body and hair showed his true Reading colors even though his team had a disappointing loss to Wyoming High School.

John Wirtz of Wyoming High School took home the Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” title as his team took on Reading High School on 10/12. The senior quarterback ran for 158 yards and scored one touch down. He helped lead his team to a 21 to 14 victory by completing thirteen passes and rushing 25 yards.

October 5, 2007 - Highlands vs. Scott

Highlands High School senior John Steller was selected as the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” for his expressive school spirit that included school colors and intense face paint. His cheering supported his team to a 58 to 0 victory.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” for the Highlands High School versus Scott High School Game is Highlands senior Clay Cecil. Cecil plays quarterback for Highlands. He threw over 100 yards and scored two touchdowns. Highlands trampled Scott
58 to 0.

September 25, 2007 - Dixie High School vs. Conner High School

The Gold Star Chili "Fan of the Game" is Conner senior Michael Zimmerman. Michael dressed in Conner’s red and blue colors and was by far the most enthusiastic member of the student section.  Even though Michael’s team lost, he certainly cheered for them until the very end.

Gold Star Chili "Star of the Game" honors went to Dixie High School wide receiver E.J. Dettmer. Dixie's number 80 caught four passes for 91 yards and scored two touchdowns in the second half. E.J. helped Dixie beat Conner High School with a whopping 41 to 13 win.

September 21, 2007 - Newport Central Catholic vs. Holy Cross

Newport Central Catholic senior Nick Dawn earned the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” honors with his enthusiastic showing at the Newport Central Catholic High School versus Holy Cross High School game. Dawn raised the bar for future fans of the game with his intricate body paint and stuffed horse that he attached to his body.

Newport Central Catholic High School running back Mark Kelly led his team to a 14 to zero victory over Holy Cross High School on 9/21. Running the ball 20 times for 78 yards, Kelly carried the ball enough to secure the win on Newport Central Catholic’s home field.

September 14, 2007 - CAMBELL COUNTY vs. RYLE HIGH

Campbell County High School senior Lauren Nehus’ spirited outfit earned her the Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” title at the Campbell County High School and Ryle High School match-up. She was front and center in the stands covered in body paint and dressed in her team’s colors from head-to-toe.

Ryle High School running back, Adam Schmitz, took home Gold Star Chili’s “Star of the Game” title when his team battled Campbell County High School this week. Schmitz carried his team to a 33 to 7 win by running 209 yards on 31 carries and scoring two touchdowns.

September 7, 2007 - CAMBELL COUNTY vs. BOONE COUNTY

Campbell County High School senior Elizabeth Waymeyer earned Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” honors. She loyally cheered on her school throughout the game despite a disappointing loss to Boone County High School. Her spirited clothes caught the eyes of the fan patrol and won her the title.

The Gold Star Chili “Star of the Game” title went to Boone County High School running back Cory Farris. Boone County took on Campbell County High School at home. Scoring three touch downs and rushing an astounding 200 yards, Farris led the team to a 28 to 0 victory over Campbell County.

August 31, 2007 - NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC vs. COVINGTON CATHOLIC

The title of Gold Star Chili “Fan of the Game” went to Jon Becker, a senior at Newport Central Catholic. He won because of his infectious team spirit—his outfit and megaphone made him an obvious choice. The crowd cheered when this Pep Club president was given the title and the New Cath students all started chanting “Gold Star!”
