GOLD STAR CHILI INTRODUCES VEGGIE CHILI

AS A NEW MEATLESS, LOW-FAT OPTION

CINCINNATI, Ohio - (March 3, 2003) - Just in time for Lent, Gold Star Chili is introducing its new Veggie Chili as a meatless, low-fat option to its regular Cincinnati-style chili. Veggie Chili will be added as a permanent menu item.

Veggie Chili is perfect for those following a meatless diet during Lent. The hearty soup will also appeal to a vegetarian or to consumers looking for low-fat meal options.

With only two grams of fat per serving and loaded with vegetables, Veggie Chili can be enjoyed as a bowl by itself or served over spaghetti.

Veggie Chili will be available in all tri-state Gold Star Chili restaurants beginning today, Monday, March 3. Through Lent, Veggie Chili will be offered as part of two special combos. A third Lenten special featuring a Super Salad, garlic bread and a drink will also be offered.
