New Gold Star Chili Takes Off

at the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport

CINCINNATI, Ohio - (March 10, 2003) - Gold Star Chili opened a new location on March 10, 2003 in Concourse B of the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport. "Our restaurant is a part of the airport's strategy to bring up to 70 new retail and food vendors to the facility as part of its 25 million dollar renovation," said Dave Mayerik, GSC Operations. "It was critical to the airport that a 'Cincinnati-style chili' restaurant be included to represent this unique taste to the thousands of passengers passing through the terminals each day."

With its airport facility, Gold Star Chili represents the taste of Cincinnati chili to travelers from all over the country and the world. "Since our opening, the guest's reactions have been tremendous," continued Mayerik. "We've already had requests to open restaurants in Portland, OR and Boston, MA."

The airport location also caters to a local customer base of over 13,000 airport employees. "Even with recent concerns about travel, sales have been strong and we believe that when the summer travel season hits, sales will grow even higher," said Mayerik.
