GOLD STAR CHILI’S OPERATION CHILI CARE

SUPPORTS AMERICAN MILITARY

CINCINNATI, Ohio - (April 12, 2003) - Gold Star Chili launched Operation Chili Care to show support for America’s troops on April 12, 2003. For one day, anyone preparing a care package for U.S. military personnel stationed in the Middle East could visit any Gold Star Chili for one free can of chili to include in their care package.

Gold Star Chili distributed 3,762 cans of chili and mailed postcards with a message of support to each local family member and their loved ones serving in the Middle East.

"We felt this was an important initiative and wanted to show our support for military personnel from our area," said Lori Busse, Marketing Director. "By making our chili available for care packages, Gold Star could help deliver a taste of home to our troops stationed in Iraq."
