CINCINNATI, Ohio - (June 8, 2004) - Taking place September 11-12, 2004 this year’s Gold Star Chilifest, benefiting the Cincinnati Fire Museum, will be bigger and better than ever. Gold Star Chili, Inc., a long time supporter of the Cincinnati Fire Museum, returns as the event’s title sponsor. Featuring the best chili recipes from all over the U.S., including the best local firehouse chili, Gold Star Chilifest also honors fire fighters and the contribution they make to our community. Plenty of good chili, national music acts, local firehouse competitions, and lots of family fun are just a sampling of what you have to look forward to.

Gold Star Chilifest kicks off this Friday, June 11th, with a firehouse chili cook-off at Rock Bottom Brewery on Fountain Square. Firehouses from all over the tri-state are bringing their best chili to compete for the title of Official Firehouse Chili’s of Gold Star Chilifest. Everyone will have the opportunity to taste free samples of up to 12 different recipes and then vote for their favorites. Tasting runs from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Rock Bottom Brewery on Fountain Square. Winners will be announced at 9:00 PM.

The top three firehouses will be the guests of the Cincinnati Fire Museum at the Gold Star Chilifest, receive a hotel stay at the Millennium Hotel, and have their chili sold by event concessions as the Official Firehouse Chili’s of Gold Star Chilifest, September 11-12, 2004.
