CINCINNATI, Ohio - (August 1, 2003) - On April 19, Gold Star Chili, Gold Star Chili announces the second annual Fire Fighter Education Night (FFEN), a partnership with local fire fighters to encourage fire prevention and safety among young children through neighborhood restaurants.

Tuesday, August 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., FFEN is the only region-wide, coordinated effort of its kind and will include fire fighters from more than 60 firehouses in Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Clermont, Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties, as well as fire fighters from Cincinnati Fire Fighter Union Local 48.

"Gold Star Chili has been a long-time supporter of fire fighters and we’re excited to team up with these real-life, hometown heroes to teach kids about fire safety," said John Sullivan, CEO, Gold Star Chili. “Fire Fighter Education Night is fun for families, for the fire fighters who meet the people they serve on this special Kid’s Night and for the Gold Star Chili employees who host these neighborhood events in more than 80 stores throughout the tri-state. We expect to reach more than 3,500 tri-state families on August 5."

As part of FFEN, many fire departments are planning to bring educational materials and fire fighting equipment. FFEN will be held in conjunction with the August 5 Kid’s Night. Kids age 10 and under eat free when accompanied by an adult who purchases a combo meal each Tuesday evening.
