NEW GOLD STAR CHILI OPENS IN CLEVES

CINCINNATI, Ohio - (November 19, 2002) - Gold Star Chili opened its newest restaurant in Cleves on Nov. 6 to two student groups from North Bend Taylor High School.

The students participated in a "Team Take Over" at a special pre-opening VIP night, where there was a dinner for the Taylor High School Community Action Program (CAP) and the Girls’ Cross Country team. Remarks by Chief Executive Officer John Sullivan, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a celebration also took place that night.

Gold Star rewarded these students for their exemplary efforts doing volunteer work and on the playing field. CAP is a student-run community service group that emphasizes service for others. Throughout the year, CAP participates in different events, such as blood drives, a 30-hour famine and pen pal program with inner city school children. The Girls’ Cross Country team won the 2002 Division II State Championship.

The restaurant opened to the general public on Nov. 7 to an overwhelming response. "The Cleves community has really made us feel welcome," stated Mike Mason, Gold Star Chili Operations Director. "This has been our busiest opening in the past 3 years and we greatly appreciate the support from the people of Cleves." continued Mason.

The restaurant is corporate owned, and will be supervised by Mike Mason, Director of Operations at Gold Star Chili, and managed by Sandy Smith.

The new Gold Star Chili is located at 4175 State Route 128 in Cleves, Ohio, off of I-275 exit #7.
