Gold Star Chili and Tri-State Fire Fighters
For almost 10 years, Gold Star Chili has made fire safety education its corporate cause and encouraged its franchise owners to work closely with local fire houses in order to support fire safety education efforts. Regardless of which organizations ask for corporate assistance, fire fighters always go to the top of the priority list at Gold Star Chili.
A few of our contributions include:
Safe Summer Nights
Initiated by the Cincinnati Fire Division, Safe Summer Nights targets low and fixed-income homes in the city of Cincinnati, especially residents under the age of 10 and over 65 and those who are hearing impaired.
On each of these nights, Cincinnati fire fighters go out into selected neighborhoods to install and discuss the value of smoke alarms and fire safety education.
American Red Cross Super Safety Saturday
Sponsored by Gold Star Chili, in partnership with the Cincinnati Fire Divisions and the American Red Cross, the annual Super Safety Saturday takes place at Yeatman's Cove at Sawyer Point and features:

S.A.F.E. houses in special houses that actually produce smoke to teach children kitchen safety, how to crawl under smoke and what to do if they wake up and hear the smoke alarm or smell smoke.

Fire trucks and rescue units from fire houses throughout the Tri-State
•
"Stop, Drop and Roll" stations
•
D.A.R.E. units
•
A robot that talks to kids about fire safety
•
Additional educational stations from several fire houses
Fire Fighter Education Nights
Fire Fighter Education Night (FFEN) enables local fire fighters to encourage fire prevention and safety among young children through their neighborhood Gold Star Chili restaurant. FFEN includes fire fighters from more than 60 fire houses in Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Clermont, Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties. Fire fighters develop family-oriented fire education agendas and many departments bring education materials and fire fighting equipment. FFEN will be held in conjunction with Gold Star Chili Kid's Night.
Fire House of the Year
Gold Star Chili has partnered with the Tri-State Fire Safety Association in honoring the "Greater Cincinnati Fire House of the Year." The award will be presented to an organization of fire fighters that demonstrates a team effort and dedicates a significant amount of time to promote fire safety and prevention in their community.
