Gold Star Chili Encourages Customers to "Get Lost in the States"
Sweepstakes Participants Have a Chance to Win a Trip for Two to Anywhere in the Continental United States; Plus Thousands of Other Travel-Themed Prizes
CINCINNATI, OH - [April 3, 2008] – Gold Star Chili is encouraging its customers to "Get Lost in the States" with its new travel-themed sweepstakes launching April 14. The sweepstakes gives customers a chance to win an assortment of prizes including a grand prize trip for two to anywhere in the Continental United States.
During the nine-week sweepstakes, all 32 ounce Gold Star Chili cups will feature one of two different peel and win game pieces-either an instant-win food prize piece or a puzzle game piece. The instant-win food prize pieces award customers with one of nine different food prizes available for redemption at the customer's next visit.
Customers who receive a puzzle game piece can visit www.goldstarchili.com to submit their game piece codes. Each entry gives customers the opportunity to complete their online United States map and a chance to enter the grand prize drawing. For each online map completed, customers receive five bonus entries into the grand prize drawing.
The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to anywhere in the Continental United States. Other prizes include GPS navigation systems, mp3 players, gas cards and Gold Star gift cards. The odds of winning a prize are one in five. In total, Gold Star Chili will offer more than 77,000 prizes valued at more than $150,000. Winners will also be featured on the Gold Star Chili Web site at the completion of the sweepstakes.
Approximately 500 free sweepstakes cups will be distributed in downtown Cincinnati by Gold Star representatives on April 14th. Recipients who obtain cups will get a chance to participate in the contest and will also be given a coupon for an extra online entry.
"Everybody wins something in Gold Star's Get Lost in the States sweepstakes," said Mike Mason, director of operations for Gold Star Chili. "This sweepstakes was designed to thank all of our dedicated customers by giving them free menu items and an opportunity to win one of thousands of prizes."
ABOUT GOLD STAR CHILI
Gold Star Chili, the official chili of the Cincinnati Bengals, was established in 1965 by the four Daoud brothers. The first Gold Star Chili was located in Mt. Washington, and it was here that the brothers settled on what has become one of Cincinnati's classic tastes, and the recipe for Cincinnati-style chili was born. To this day, the spice blend is a closely guarded secret. Gold Star now has more than 100 restaurants located throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and operates concessions at Paul Brown Stadium, Children's Hospital, and the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
