Gold Star Chili Hosts "Military Appreciation" Kid’s Night
Program with The Thank You Foundation on June 26 will send messages to troops overseas

CINCINNATI, OH—June 18, 2007—Families who visit Gold Star Chili locations for Kid's Night on Tuesday, June 26, will have the opportunity to send a message of support to U.S. troops serving overseas.

Gold Star Chili has partnered with The Thank You Foundation to provide materials so that children and their families can write notes to express their appreciation to members of the military. The Thank You Foundation will mail the thank you cards to men and women from the Greater Cincinnati area serving in the Middle East.

At more than 90 Greater Cincinnati Gold Star Chili locations, kids will be provided with crayons and thank you cards to write and design their personalized messages.

Every Tuesday evening is Kid’s Night at Gold Star Chili. Kids 10 and under eat free from Gold Star's Kid's Menu when dining in and accompanied by an adult purchasing a combo meal. Gold Star Kids also receive a free surprise and an opportunity to register to win monthly prizes including gift certificates to Blockbuster Video, K*B Toys and Showcase Cinemas, passes to local attractions such as the Museum Center, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Beach, Cincinnati Reds games, and prizes such as CD players, games, and T-shirts.

Military Appreciation Kid’s Night compliments Gold Star’s ongoing "Serving Our Troops" campaign. The program provides welcome home dinner receptions for soldiers returning to Cincinnati after serving abroad free of charge. Both programs are designed to thank our troops for their commitment and courage throughout the year.

The Thank You Foundation is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that coordinates programs that show appreciation and support for U.S. service members and veterans. The Thank You Foundation is founded on the premise that a simple, one-on-one expression of appreciation can have a tremendous impact on both the individual giving and the individual receiving. Additional information is available online: www.thethankyoufoundation.org.

"Gold Star Chili is proud to support our troops and an organization like The Thank You Foundation," said John Sullivan, chief executive officer of Gold Star Chili. "This program helps demonstrate our appreciation for the service of our military personnel."

ABOUT GOLD STAR CHILI Gold Star Chili was established in 1965 when the four Daoud brothers were embarking on a journey that would soon embody the Great American Dream of owning a successful business. The first store location was erected in Mt. Washington, and it was here that the brothers settled on what has become one of Cincinnati's classic tastes, and the recipe for Cincinnati-style chili was born. To this day, the spice blend is a closely guarded secret. Gold Star now has more than 100 restaurants located throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and operates concessions at Paul Brown Stadium, Children's Hospital, and the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
