Gold Star Chili Teams Up with the Bengals
Season opens with Bengals glasses, cans, and a new song for fans

CINCINNATI, OH – August 31, 2007 Gold Star Chili, the official chili of the Cincinnati Bengals, will be kicking off the 2007 football season with new offerings for fans of the Jungle.

Bengals glasses, featuring the team’s distinctive snarling tiger logo, return to Gold Star Chili locations.  With the purchase of a combo meal, a Bengals glass will cost $1.29; without a purchase, $2.99.  Last year’s Bengals glasses sold out and this year’s edition will be available only while supplies last.

In addition, with every purchase of a Bengals glass, customers receive an entry form for a drawing to win two tickets to the Bengals game against the St. Louis Rams on Dec. 9.

Fans will also be able to visit local grocery stores for special Gold Star Chili cans that feature the Bengals logo and a football field on the label.  The “fan cans” will be available in local grocery stores beginning in mid-September and continue throughout the football season while supplies last.

The most recent winner of Gold Star Chili’s “Get Lost in the Taste” song-writing contest will debut on Sept. 3 and incorporate the Bengals connection.  Brandon Faris, a local singer and musician, performs the latest edition, which will be featured in Gold Star Chili’s fall advertising campaign, including during Bengals game broadcasts.

Gold Star encourages aspiring singers and songwriters – young and old – who love the taste of Gold Star Chili to showoff their talents by writing songs about it. The winning contestant receives $1,000, and his or her song may be featured in a future Gold Star Chili commercial.  For additional contest information, visit www.goldstarchili.com.

Gold Star Chili has been the official chili of the Bengals since 2000.

ABOUT GOLD STAR CHILI
Gold Star Chili, the official chili of the Cincinnati Bengals, was established in 1965 when the four Daoud brothers were embarking on a journey that would soon embody the Great American Dream of owning a successful business. The first Gold Star Chili was located in Mt. Washington, and it was here that the brothers settled on what has become one of Cincinnati's classic tastes, and the recipe for Cincinnati-style chili was born. To this day, the spice blend is a closely guarded secret. Gold Star now has more than 100 restaurants located throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and operates concessions at Paul Brown Stadium, Children's Hospital, and the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
