Growing up in Middletown, my sister and I ate Gold Star whenever we could "con” my mom and dad into it. Many years later, after living overseas, my family and I ended up in Houston, working in the oil biz. Being on an IT helpdesk, I speak to people all over the world - imagine my surprise after helping out some old hometown users in Cincinnati - I opened my mailbox to find three cans of Gold Star in thanks!! My husband shudders whenever I cook it, but my four year old daughter and I eat ourselves silly! I send it to my sister every year for her birthday...takes us right back to being home - to the steamed up chili parlor windows and snow outside. LOVE THAT CHILI!!

I have been a Gold Star Chili fan ever since I can remember. To me it's the only chili worth buying. I now have a ten year old daughter who loves Gold Star more than I ever dreamed. Occasionally we will let our three kids take turns picking where we will eat and our youngest picks Gold Star every time. She would eat it for her three meals of the day if she could. You could say that she is addicted to Gold Star!

It’s me, Kyle again. Just to keep Gold Star up to date I work for NPL in Salt Lake City, Utah. I work with people from other states. Everybody thought their state had the best chili. I have put Gold Star Chili against every one of their chilis and they agree with me that GOLD STAR is better than theirs. I’m ready to put Gold Star Chili against any chili out there. Keep making that great chili.

I have been Gold Star’s number one fan since I was able to drive. I lived in Kentucky my whole life and worked in Cincinnati. There’s a Gold Star on Hwy 27 in Alexandria I visited every Friday and Saturday night with my best friend. I would even stop there about three or four times a week after work just to pick up a Coney Crate for the ride home to Falmouth, Kentucky. I now live in Salt Lake City, Utah and I have my mother send me cases of Gold Star Chili. But it’s just not the same being able to sit in the restaurant and be around that beautiful aroma. I even put it on my eggs for breakfast.

I am an Air Force wife and currently living just outside of Boston, MA. My husband and I both grew up in Northern Kentucky (I grew up in Dayton, KY and he grew up in Bellevue, KY). We love Gold Star Chili so much that when I was pregnant with our daughter while we were living in Texas my mom and dad (who still live in Dayton, KY) bought a bunch of Gold Star Chili and sent it to us. Most of the time I have two or more cans of Gold Star Chili in my pantry. Every time we are back in the Cincinnati area we eat Gold Star at least three times a week. Most days if you ask my son and/or daughter if they want 3-ways for dinner their eyes get really big and they scream yeah. We move around so much that eating Gold Star Chili gives my children, husband and I a sense of where home really is. When my husband is deployed and I am here with just the kids and dog 3-ways help the kids and I feel a little better and not miss “HOME” or my husband so much. We love all that you do to thank all of the men and women in the Armed Forces. I know that they and their families appreciate it a lot, it just means so much to know that someone appreciates what they are doing and what they sacrifice everyday. We wish that there were more people/companies like you in the world.

I have several family members living in and around Tulsa, OK. On one occasion I brought a half dozen Coneys and part of a 3-way just for the road. Since I slept most of the way out there, I had what I thought was a great snack for that evening. Upon arrival, I found more than a few curious kids and parents hovering around the microwave. The aroma of Gold Star is so unique and inviting, the kitchen was soon full of people wanting to just (Taste) my snacks. I was happy to oblige but the only one who didn’t get a snack was me!

My family now lives north of Chicago but I grew up in Cincinnati and still have family there. When we visit we go to Gold Star almost every day. Everyone knows what to get my wife, kids, and me for birthdays and holidays...what else...Gold Star by the case. :-)

Well I won’t try and bore you too much, but I work for an audio/visual company and one of my venders (which lives in Hebron, Ky) and I were talking about chili one day. At first I was sure that the chili down South was better by far (w/o tasting it.) We decided that I would send her a couple of cans of different kinds of Texas chili and she would do the same for me (chili from Ky.) Well I got the chili, she sent two cans of one brand, and 1 can of Gold Star. To put it nicely, I wish that she would have sent all Gold Star. LOL!!! It is by far THE BEST CHILI I HAVE EVER TASTED!!! I just wish that they sold it in stores down here :(.

My name is Elliot, when i was younger I lived with my grandparents for two years. During this time period I was introduced to the greatest creation ever, Gold Star Chili. Ever since then I eagerly await my visit back to Ohio to indulge myself in Gold Star. I recently came back for Christmas this year, and I have eaten Gold Star at least once a day since I have been here! (Over a week straight!)

Hi, my name is SSG Shoemake. I am currently serving my second tour in Iraq. I just wanted to let you know that I am still receiving e-mails as I am a member of your e-club. I have lived in the Cincinnati area for 35 years and Gold Star has always been one of my favorite places to take my family. I am looking forward to returning to Cincinnati in about 7 months. I also would like to thank you for your support of the military. I wish more businesses were like you. I know it is probably impossible but me and my guys would appreciate anything you could send us from home. The home town touch makes everything go much better over here. Again, THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Recently, Mary Ann McGinnis was visiting from Ohio. We were talking about some of the great places to eat in Cincinnati. I mentioned that I really miss the smell and taste of Gold Star Chili. She stated that you can order online now to get the chili. I went directly to the computer and signed online and couldn’t wait to send my order...thanks, life is good....

Hello! My name is Vivian. I've lived in Kentucky all my life and raised my four children here. However, when both my sons left Kentucky to follow their careers, they took their memories with them — such as Gold Star Chili and White Castle. My sons visit me at least three times a year, and regardless of what I have prepared for them in the way of food, they both have to stop at the chili parlor and get their fill of 4-Ways and Coneys before they can eat anything else.
One Thanksgiving, we were on our way to my daughters home where she had prepared turkey and all the rest, and my son Jon pulled into the chili parlor lot. I said, "What are you doing? Your not going to spoil your appetite with a Coney?!" "Just one mom, please?" That was when he was in his 50's!
Every Christmas my one daughter sends her brothers a Christmas package of Gold Star Chili!

Growing up in Cincy I had three loves: 1.) my grandparents 2.) the big red machine 3.) Gold Star Chili. My grandparents have passed on and so have the Reds but every chance I get I still come home for those 5-Ways and Coneys.

I have an aunt that lives in Orlando and an uncle that lives in West Palm Springs Florida. Every year we either go visit them or they come and visit us. One of the most important things that we have to do before we leave is go to the store and fill up an entire suit case with Gold Star products. We let them fight over who gets what and how much when we get there. They are so dedicated that if we go to Orlando first my uncle will beat us there and if we go to West Palm Springs my aunt will beat us there so that neither has an advantage over the other when the goods are revealed. I get a kick out of it every year. I thought I would share my story with my fellow Gold Star Chilians.

I have lived in Las Vegas for seven years and have sorely missed "real" Coneys, meaning Gold Star Chili Coneys. Oh, they have things they call "Coneys" but they have no idea. I even went so far as to check into opening a franchise in Las Vegas just so I could get some Gold Star Chili! Sadly it’s not on the list for expansion :-(. To make a long story short I came back to Ohio for the summer and while driving back, my son and I drooled over the prospect of Gold Star Coneys all the way here. As soon as we hit town, we hit Gold Star Chili! I will get my fill before heading back and will miss it. I tell everyone Gold Star keeps me healthy and gives me a great attitude! Viva Las Gold Star Chili!!!!

It is great, I go to Gold Star Chili and order a #3 and one Coney with very little chili and lots of cheese. I ask them to hold the onion and mustard. That special dog is for my beast friend, Ricco, my Jack Russel Terrier. I love Gold Star, Skyline no way. I am hooked on Gold Star and so is Ricco.

My Husband of 35 years wants Gold Star each and every day. The Owners Ed and Oni know us by site. When they see our car or truck pull up they know just what to do. Our drinks are at "our" table before we are. Yes, I have begged to go to other eateries but he loves his GOLD Star. He just tells me they have more than one thing on the menu and to order something different each time. Well I am just thankful he wants to come get me at work and take me to lunch!

My cousin Paul lives in Sherman Oaks, California and I live in New Jersey. My son Michael and I met up with Paul in the Kentucky area a few years ago and spent the weekend. As soon as our plane landed, Paul took us to one of your Gold Star locations. He said, "You have to try this chili, it’s excellent!" Well, he was right. We must have eaten Gold Star Chili for almost every meal that weekend. My son loved it! After that, for holidays and his birthday, we sent Paul care packages of Gold Star Chili, through your website. My son still talks about how we had a Gold Star Chili weekend!!! Thanks.

My son was on his way home from serving in Desert Storm in the Eighty Second Airborne. His group stopped in Buffalo, N.Y. He met a girl from Winston Salem, N.C. Six months later they were married. My new daughter-in-law never had a Gold Star Coney or a Three-Way Chili. She and my son came home for a visit and we took them to Gold Star Chili on Beechmont Avenue. My daughter-in-law said she had never had anything that tasted so good. Now every time they come to visit, our first stop from the airport is at Gold Star. A six pack of Gold Star canned chili is also one of their Christmas presents every year.

I grew up outside of Dayton, OH and had a Gold Star in the neighborhood as well as a lesser "Cinci Chili" competitor. I thought that was how chili was supposed to taste! Only until I left the area and moved to the southwest did I find out how fortunate I was to have known it. I don't get back to Ohio that often, well not in 20 years. But I am absolutely thrilled that I can purchase it online and enjoy it at home.

My dad comes from Kentucky and we get to go there once a year. A few years ago, when I first tried Gold Star Chili, I was instantly hooked! Now we try to go out there once every one or two years - so it's a great treat to enjoy everything we can make with this delicious chili! Chili dip, Coneys or 3-ways! I only wish we had it here in Utah!

I was born and raised in Northern Kentucky. I love Gold Star, it was my first job. I used to eat it everyday! Now I live with my girlfriend in Kent, Ohio and they don't have Gold Star up here. I took my seven year old granddaughter to Gold Star. I thought I’d start her out early knowing what real chili is supposed to taste like so she doesn’t waste time eating other restaurant’s wanna-be chili. She loves the Coney’s and I found out that Root beer goes well with chili. The people at Gold Star treated her like she was as special to them as she is to me.

I work on the Great Lakes (Superior, Huron, Michigan, Erie, etc). I am crazy for Gold Star Chili. When I am OFF THE SHIPS visiting my brother in Northern Kentucky, I never miss getting my Gold Star. I make my brother pay!!!! When I am sailing the Great Lakes - I send my brother my coupon (thanks to e-mail) and he gets his free Gold Star Chili! – Now – THAT’S THE MOST COMPLICATED Gold Star story that you have heard of yet, 'ey??

Hey Gold Star, I'm a born and raised Cali girl. I moved out to Bellevue, Kentucky when I was 20. I'm now back in Cali missing my sweet coneys and 3 ways. I really miss Gold Star. I have always, always, always loved Gold Star Chili. In 1990, I was pregnant with my daughter and I ate Gold Star Chili every single day. Well, this particular night I could not get my husband to go out and get me some, he kept saying he was tired and needed to rest. I was due to deliver my daughter in two weeks so I faked like I was in labor so he could take me to University Hospital, which is two blocks north of a Gold Star; on the way I asked him if he could please stop there first so that I could get my Gold Star Chili 3 way and my coneys. Then I sat at the hospital for a little while all the time knowing that I really wasn't in labor for real, and he never knew!

My youngest son has loved Gold Star since he could walk. Whe Nate gets to pick a dinner, he always picks Gold star. We eat out at our favorite Dixie Hwy restaurant about once every 2 weeks, and then I make it at home during the weeks inbetween restaurant visits. Nate is 15 now, and we tell him that when he goes off to college, we are going to have to ship him God Star every week to satisfy his favorite craving!

Last year for our wedding anniversary, we were stuck doing some errands for a family member and it was kind of late by the time we were finished. We wanted to have a nice dinner for our anniversary and due to it being late in the evening not too many restaurants were open. We stopped in a local place which I can't mention, as we went in we were put in a booth and we didn\'t get any service for over 30 min. so we walked out disappointed. My husband felt really bad due to the horrible day we had already had and was going to take me out the next night. As we were going through Lawrenceburg, Indiana we noticed that Gold Star was still open. We stopped in and the waitress was wonderful, she chatted with us, due to we were the only customers and she found out what a horrible day we had and it was our anniversary on top of that. I practically cried right there. Needless to say it was the perfect anniversary after all!!

Our parents are from Glendale and Springdale, OH, so we learned to love Gold Star Chili even though we were born and live in Pennsylvania. I'll never forget the first time I heard "5-way chili" and "Coney." I'm happy they became a part of my vocabulary and life experience long ago. There are too many here who have never heard of them or Gold Star! I tell them that they're missing out! In 2005 we took our handbell choir from Philadelphia to Cincinnati for a 5-day tour of concert performances. One of the MUST experiences we made sure they had was a lunch visit to Gold Star. We have the opportunity to have Gold Star whenever we visit my grandmother who still lives in the area. At age 90 she still loves Gold Star, and we take her there for a special treat every time we visit home. Occasionally, I'll be at work and have a craving for Gold Star for lunch. How I wish I could have lunch in Ohio... but it's a 600 mile drive for us to get to Grandma and Gold Star! Thanks for the unforgettable food!

On December 8th 1995 my now husband and I had our first date at Gold Star. We have eaten there on that same date every year since. We even went there the night of our wedding since he had a business trip the next day and we didn't have time for a honeymoon. We ate where we fell in love. Then when I was pregnant with both my kids (ages 6 and 1), I would eat Gold Star nonstop. It was all I craved! Since I was a little girl with my family, to my first date with my husband, to now, I have always loved the food and always will.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati until I was 14. We moved when I had just entered high school at Hughes. That was so hard for me to leave everyone and everything I had ever known. The worst part was I would never be able to eat Gold Star Chili again ... so I thought. Now I eat it whenever I get homesick, and it helps my daughter have a connection to where her mom grew up and the world that made me who I am today. Keep the food coming and all the Bengal support too. Every time there is a Bengal cup or mug or anything Bengal related I take a quick trip (8 hours) home to get one. I love Cincinnati and Gold Star Chili.

I have been eating gold star all my life. I love gold star. They have the best chili ever. I take my Sister and Mother there often. How much chili can one person eat? Wow you all are great! I've been eating Gold Star for many years, and it's great to take home cans for quick chili dogs with cheese. When I run out of wieners and buns, I take a slice of bread and cover it with the chili and cheese leftovers. I think the great thing about the chili is its versatility for putting it on or in recipes made from creative thinking. When someone says they've created a mix of anything with Gold Star chili, I know it will be delicious and satisfying. I may sound like a commercial, but if you haven't tried some of these suggestions then do so and you too will be passing on your own commercial for some of the best eating in our tri-state area.

I was about 12 years old when I had my last Gold Star Chili. My favorite was the chili dogs, I could eat two of them. My grandparents, Ray and Ruth, from Loveland Park, Ohio would take me, my sisters and brothers to Gold Star. The memories that are in my head right now are great.
To make a long story short, I am now 45 years old. My sister went to Ohio recently and came back with a packet of Gold Star Chili and gave it to me. When I came home and made it for my family, the memories came pouring in my mind. Thank you for that because my grandparents are now gone and it was great to go down that memory lane that was so long ago.
My husband and kids liked it so much, you should have seen them. They were licking their plates and asking for more. I had noticed on the back of the flavor packet a 1-800 number and called to order a whole 24 pack.
I just got the spice packets in the mail and couldn't wait to make more. Now at least once a week we have Gold Star Chili. My favorite is a 4-way and the kids love the coneys. Thanks a million, the memories are priceless.

I grew up in Greater Cincinnati and moved to the Los Angeles area 4 years
ago. I grew up on Gold Star, and after about a year and a half of not having
any, I made plans to visit Cincy so I could get some!!
My friends here in LA think I am silly for loving a food that much, but I fed
them Gold Star (I made 3-ways) for the first time yesterday and they LOVED IT!!
My recent trip was great. I ate Gold Star 3 times that week. In fact, at the
airport on the way back to LA, I ate Gold Star for the very last time 5 minutes
before boarding my flight. I bought 6 cans, and I only have 4 left! I wish I
had a steady stream of it in my house here.

Ever since my 11 year-old granddaughter, Jordan, was small, she'd always ask
me if we could go to Gold Star Chili, her favorite place to eat. Naturally,
I'd take her whenever I could. As she'd eat her Coney with cheese, she'd smile
and say how good it was. I have never seen a child who likes a food as much
as she likes Gold Star Chili. She'd eat it all day if we'd let her.
A couple years ago Jordan and her family moved from Ohio to California. Whenever
I'd go visit, I'd take cans and packages of Gold Star so she could still enjoy
them. When she comes home to visit, the first thing she says when I meet her at
the airport is "Can we get Gold Star?"
Recently I discovered the website and sent her a case of Gold Star. This is
great as she can now enjoy it in California all the time. Thank you Gold Star
for making this so convenient and especially for making my little granddaughter
so happy!

Hello, I'm an Infantry soldier in the U.S.Army. I lived in the tri-state area
most of my life until I joined the Army in '99. One of the things i thought
about in Iraq was FOOD and most of the time it was Gold Star. There are no Gold
Stars here in Washington but I hope to be able to fly home someday and have a

Hello, I am a native of Hamilton, Ohio and a soldier in the U.S. Army stationed
at Ft. Hood, Texas. I was deployed to Iraq beginning in March 2003 until March
2004. I must say that I miss Gold Star very much. My wife, my two children and
I used to eat at your restaurant at least once a week before moving to Texas.
Every native talks about Texas Chili, but it doesn't even begin to compare to
Gold Star. I already have a few cans of chili ready to go with me when I go back
to Iraq this November and believe me, I will savor every last drop while in the
combat zone. I just wanted to let you all know that Gold Star rocks!! Thank you
so much for the fine chili.

I remember the first Gold Star I ate at is on Dixie Hwy. in Florence, KY. I
grew up eating Gold Star and when I went into the Army in the mid 80's and
was overseas for 3 years I had withdraws from it. When I came home from the
Army I got a job in Detroit, MI and would have to drive 6 hours back here to
get my fix of Gold Star.
I became engaged to a young lady from Michigan. April of 1994 we had to come
to Kentucky for a death in my family and we all went and had some Gold Star
Chili after the funeral and it was my soon to be wife's first time tasting
Gold Star and she loved it. We did not know until sometime later how much she
loved it until she became pregnant and told me at 3 am one morning she wanted
Gold Star Chili. I explained she would have to wait until the weekend when she
and I was off work to come down and get some, she frowned but said OK as long
as you promise. From then on we had to take some of the chili home every time
we visited and after we had some friends over one night for conies and spaghetti
we had to start taking cases back to Michigan and even gave some away for
Christmas presents.

Hello! I am currently a student at the University of Louisville, but I grew
up in Northern Kentucky. I miss Gold Star sooooo much! Whenever I go home I
HAVE to have it at least once when I'm there. My mom sends me care packages
with multiple cans of Gold Star Chili in them and my friends down here have
tasted it and absolutely love it! Every time I go home they make me bring them
some back. So we have decided that there needs to be a Gold Star built in
Louisville! There are two Skylines here, but we don't like Skyline as much.
It doesn't even compare! So hopefully someday our dream of a Gold Star in
Louisville will come true. Until then, I will keep supplying it to my friends
from home!!

In the 1950's I was a regular patron of "Hamburger Heaven." As it was located
just across the street from the old movie theater it was a common occurrence
for us kids to be dropped off for a Saturday afternoon "double" feature. After
which, we would always pay a visit to the hamburger joint and more often than
not, preferred the chili more so than a burger.
In the latter part of the 1960's and having returned from Viet Nam, I discovered
"Hamburger Heaven" was renamed "Gold Star Chili". I lived in the Mt. Washington
area for an additional five years and while there paid many a visit to your
Mt. Washinton store. I now live in California and I sorely miss Gold Star Chili.

them stop and get Gold Star for me. I had to have it!
I had a bouncing Baby Boy. Taylor (my gold star baby) is now 13 and loves Gold
Star just as much as the rest of us. He likes the chilly dogs no cheese. I
like it loaded. I love Gold Star and so does the whole family.

I used to live in KY. I recently moved to CA and am dying for Gold Star chili.
They do not have Gold Star here. In KY you can buy cans in the store and go to
the restaurant whenever you want. Gold Star is my favorite. I tell everyone I
meet here that they have never had chili if they haven't had Gold Star.
I have recently found out that I can purchase it online and have it shipped to
me. I was so happy to discover this news. I hope one day the will be coming
to CA. I'm ordering a case and bringing some into work everyone wants to try it.
